I watched the google wave video while chomping my lunch yesterday and I too was impressed. I'm hoping they offer this an an upgrade to gmail before too long.

Wow, that was a long lunch! ;-) Google Wave would be more than an upgrade to gmail -- it would be a complete and total replacement.
I'm curious to see how Wave will be extended to handle to do lists, voice mail, etc.
